Winifred N. Labule began her career in healthcare in the USA in 1989 after graduating from Martha Washington Career center with a diploma in practical nursing as valedictorian of her class. She went on to continue her education at the University of the District of Columbia in Electrical Engineering, while maintaining a full time job as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
After realizing that her passion for helping others outweighed her competitive spirit of being in the engineering world, she decided to change gears and transferred to Howard University in 1991. At the time, she was one of 31 students accepted out of 300 applicants into the School of Allied Health, department of Physical Therapy. Winifred was featured for two semesters on the Dean’s List, and was a member of Betta Kappa Chi, while being a single parent of two young children and working a full time job. In 1995, she graduated from Howard University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy. Since then, Winifred has worked as a physical therapist in local Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Home Health and Out Patient departments in the DMV area.
Winifred is a member in good standing of the American Physical Therapy Association, where she is also a member of the Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Sections. She is certified in Lymphedema management and works closely with a world renowned Plastic surgeon providing Lymph drainage therapies.She also has an extensive background in various Musculoskeletal dysfunctions. In 2016, she gained certification in Ayurvedic massage therapy, after studying in India. She also owned a private clinic at an assisted facility for 10 years, working with geriatric patients. Winifred Labule is currently finishing up her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree with Evidence in Motion Institute of Health Profession in Louisville, Kentucky, specializing in Pain Management and Orthopedics. She also volunteers her time at a Yoga and Meditation foundation in Tennessee, where she travels once a month. She has been with Jamachi Physical Therapy since 2015.
